Recreation and activities

The Montreal Chinese Hospital seeks to provide a dynamic environment where residents feel at home.

Activities are organized every week according to tastes and needs and include: mahjong, films, meetings, individual activities, etc. Family and friends are welcome at these events.

The schedule is posted on bulletin boards on each floor and special events are held at Christmas, Winter Solstice, Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, Festival of Fall, etc.  Adapted transport trips are part of our regular programming.

• Chinese New Year: Friday, January 31, 2014
• Visit of the Ladies Auxiliary: Sunday, February 9, 2014
• Residents’ Olympics: March 2014
• Pet therapy: We receive the visit of pet therapist about once a month for residents who wish to interact with an animal. Pet therapy promotes socialization and verbal and non-verbal expression. It also helps stimulate cognitive functions such as memory and attention, and sensory functions such as touch, hearing and sight. It is an activity enjoyed by our residents and their families.
